Adult & Youth Helmet Size Guide
Measure around the widest part of your head, approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm) above your eyebrows and ears. Match that measurement to the exact Sandbox model below—sizing differs between Classic 2.0, Icon, Legend and Low Rider helmets.
A helmet should feel evenly snug without painful pressure points. It should remain in place when you shake your head, even before the chin strap is fastened.

Some seasons use revised Low Rider fit ranges. Follow the chart attached to the individual product when it differs from this general guide.
Between Sizes
Try both sizes when possible. Choose the helmet that is evenly snug and stable without concentrated pressure. Do not rely on the chin strap to hold an oversized shell in place.
Fit System & Pads
Use the rear dial or supplied fit pads for fine adjustment only. Start with the correct shell size; an adjustment system cannot make an oversized or undersized shell safe.
Snow vs. Water
Choose a helmet certified and labelled for the activity. Low Rider water helmets and Snow helmets are not automatically interchangeable; check the product label and manual before use.
How to Measure & Check Helmet Fit
Measure: Use a flexible tape and wrap it level around the widest part of your head, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) above the eyebrows and just above the ears. Take the measurement in centimetres.
Position: Place the helmet level on your head so it protects the forehead and does not tilt back. Follow the product manual when adjusting pads, dial and straps.
Stability Check: With the chin strap open, gently shake your head side to side and front to back. The helmet should move with your head and should not slide independently.
Comfort Check: The fit should be firm and even, without gaps or painful pressure points. Wear it for several minutes to identify discomfort.
Final Check: Fasten and adjust the chin strap according to the manual. Recheck the fit whenever pads, liners, hair or under-helmet layers change.
This chart is a sizing aid, not a substitute for the helmet manual or an in-person fit check. Replace a helmet after a significant impact or whenever required by the manufacturer. The individual product chart, certification label and instructions take priority.
