When you leave the resort boundary, the "Big Three" are completely non-negotiable. An avalanche beacon (transceiver), a heavy-duty shovel, and a deployable probe are the mandatory tools required to locate and rescue your riding partners in the event of a slide. At The Drop, we trust and heavily stock BCA (Backcountry Access) because their rescue equipment is engineered for ultimate speed, durability, and intuitive ease of use when adrenaline is high and every second matters.
BCA Tracker Beacons
Finding your partner fast is the first step of a rescue. The legendary BCA Tracker series set the industry standard for transceiver speed and simplicity. Featuring lightning-fast signal processing, multiple antennas, and incredibly intuitive directional displays, Tracker beacons are designed to eliminate confusion and get you straight to the burial site.
Stealth Probes & Dozer Shovels
Once you have the beacon signal dialed, you need hardware that won't fail. We stock BCA Stealth probes featuring quick-locking tension systems that deploy instantly without snagging. For the final extraction, avalanche debris sets up like concrete—plastic shovels will shatter. We carry the BCA Dozer line of avalanche shovels, featuring heat-treated aluminum blades and robust, packable shafts designed to move massive amounts of heavy snow efficiently.
Complete Avalanche Rescue Packages
If you are just getting into splitboarding or backcountry skiing, piecing together a kit can be overwhelming. To make it simple, we offer complete BCA Avalanche Rescue Packages. These kits bundle a Tracker beacon, a Stealth probe, and a Dozer shovel into one box, giving you the complete, core setup at a better value than buying each piece individually.
