Finding your size

Choosing the right ski length comes down to your height and skill level. As a rule of thumb, a ski standing on end should reach somewhere between your chin and forehead.

  • Shorter (–5 cm) = quicker turns, more playful
  • Longer (+5 cm) = more stability, speed and float

Adjusting Ski Length Based on Skiing Ability

Your skill level affects how much control you’ll have with a given ski length:

Beginner

  • Go for skis closer to chin height or even shorter.

  • Shorter skis are easier to maneuver, especially at low speeds.

  • Ideal for learning basic turns and controlling speed.

Intermediate

  • Opt for skis that fall between chin and nose height.

  • This offers more versatility for learning to carve and handle moderate terrain.

Advanced to Expert

  • Choose skis closer to or above head height.

  • Longer skis provide better stability at higher speeds and improved performance in deep snow and variable terrain.Ski sizing diagram showing beginner, intermediate, and advanced ski length recommendations

    Going Shorter vs. Going Longer

Once you know your recommended size range, there are a few good reasons to size up or down. Shorter skis tend to be easier to maneuver and turn, while longer skis offer greater stability, especially at higher speeds.

    Factor Go Shorter Go Longer
    Ability Beginner Advanced
Terrain Park, groomers (Subtract 2–5 cm for maneuverability) Powder, freeride (Add 2–5 cm for flotation and stability)
Style Slower, controlled (Subtract around 2 cm) Fast, aggressive (Add around 2 cm)
Weight Lighter than average (Size down 1–3 cm) Heavier than average (Size up 1–3 cm for added stability)
Ski Profile More camber More rocker

Description

The Atomic Bent 110 takes a similar approach to the mountain as the Bent Chetler 120, with slightly less width. It’s Jossi Wells’s go-to ski for backcountry freestyle, charging lift-served pow laps and days where it’s deep, but not 120-deep. The Bent 110 is designed with HRZN Tech Tip and Tail for a playful performance and better float through blower without adding bulk to the ski. The 110 features a bit less rocker in the tail than the 120 but still charges through variable chop and crud. A Light Woodcore reduces weight and keeps the performance responsive. With topsheet and base art by Chris Benchetler, the Bent 110 is wholly reflective of his approach to the mountains: creative and unique.

Ski Profile

Powder Rocker 25/50/25

Pronounced tip and tail rocker combined with camber underfoot for deep and variable snow.

Powder Rocker 25/50/25 combines approximately 25% tip rocker, 50% camber underfoot and 25% tail rocker to balance flotation, control and playful handling.

The pronounced rocker at the tip helps the ski rise above soft and deep snow while making turn initiation feel smoother and less demanding. Camber through the centre of the ski maintains edge contact, stability and energy when conditions become firmer or more variable. Tail rocker helps the ski release easily from turns, pivot through tight terrain and maintain a loose, surf-inspired feel in powder.

This versatile profile is designed for skiers who want strong soft-snow performance without sacrificing dependable edge grip and control when moving between powder, tracked snow and firmer resort terrain.

Ski Shape

Directional Shape

Minimal tail rocker for more edge contact creating better grip and stability.

Directional Shape is designed primarily for forward skiing, combining an easy-turning tip with a more supportive tail. Minimal rocker through the tail keeps more of the ski’s edge in contact with the snow, improving grip, stability and control through the end of a turn. The directional profile delivers dependable tracking on firmer surfaces while maintaining the maneuverability needed for soft snow and variable terrain.

Top Sheet

Glossy Topsheet

A glossy topsheet gives your ski a polished, glassy finish for a super-sleek high-end look.

Glossy Topsheet gives the ski a smooth, high-shine finish that enhances the depth, colour and detail of its graphics. The reflective surface creates a polished, glass-like appearance for a clean, premium look that stands out on the mountain. This refined finish complements the ski’s construction with a sleek visual treatment from tip to tail.

Core

Light Woodcore

Poplar wood core optimizing the ski’s weight without sacrificing any shock absorption or stability.

Light Woodcore uses lightweight poplar wood to create a balanced combination of agility, stability and natural vibration damping. The reduced core weight makes the ski easier to maneuver and quicker to respond without sacrificing the solid, composed feel needed at speed or through variable snow. Poplar’s natural shock-absorbing properties help smooth out vibration and terrain feedback while maintaining a lively, predictable flex for confident skiing across the mountain.

Sidewall

Duracap Sidewall

Sidewall from base to top sheet for great edge grip, with a rounded shape for increased durability.

Dura Cap Sidewall combines strong edge control with a rounded, impact-resistant construction. The sidewall extends from the base to the topsheet to transmit skier input directly to the edges, providing dependable grip and precise control on firmer snow. Its rounded cap shape helps deflect impacts and reduces the chance of topsheet chipping and sidewall damage. This creates a durable construction that maintains confident edge performance across groomers, variable terrain and everyday mountain use.

Edge

Resist Park Edge

A thicker edge offers sturdiness and greater durability for sliding park rails.

Resist Park Edge uses a thicker, more durable edge construction designed for the repeated impacts and abrasion of freestyle skiing. The reinforced edge provides additional sturdiness when sliding rails, boxes and other park features, helping it better withstand hard landings and regular contact with metal surfaces. This added durability makes it well suited to skiers who spend significant time in the terrain park while maintaining dependable edge performance around the rest of the mountain.
