Chocolate Skateboards was born out of necessity when the Girl Skateboards team became too large to manage under one banner. Rather than diluting the brand, founders Rick Howard and Mike Carroll created Chocolate as a distinct entity with its own flavor. At The Drop, we stock Chocolate because they are one of the few brands that has stayed consistently cool for over 30 years, serving as a pillar of the Crailtap family (Girl, Chocolate, Royal, and Lakai).
The Iconic "Chunk" Logo and Art Direction
The Chocolate "Chunk" logo is a masterclass in clean, recognizable design. Beyond the basics, the brand is world-renowned for its artistic direction, often featuring hand-drawn illustrations and portraits that reflect the diverse backgrounds of its riders. We carry a wide variety of these graphic series, ensuring that your board looks as good as it performs. Whether you are collecting a limited-edition pro series or grabbing a fresh team deck, Chocolate’s aesthetic is always on point.
World-Class Shapes and Construction
Every Chocolate deck is pressed to the high standards of the Crailtap factory, utilizing premium North American maple. They are particularly famous for their "G-Shape" series—standardized shapes that allow riders to find their favorite dimensions and stick with them session after session. From the mellow concave of their wider 8.5" decks to the quick-flick responsiveness of their 8.0" and 8.25" models, Chocolate offers a refined ride that is trusted by the Grande Prairie skate community.
The Chocolate Family Spirit
What truly sets Chocolate apart is its team. From original legends to modern technical wizards, the Chocolate roster represents a lifestyle of camaraderie and creative expression. This "family" vibe translates into every product they release, including a curated line of apparel like hoodies and tees that carry the same iconic branding found on their decks. When you ride Chocolate, you’re repping a brand that has helped write the history books of skateboarding.
